Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Vice President of Student Success is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing a comprehensive suite of student support services, aiming to maximize student retention, engagement, and academic achievement by providing guidance, advocating for student needs, and implementing strategic initiatives to foster a positive campus environment; this includes managing student conduct, overseeing student life programs, and collaborating with faculty and staff to identify and address student challenges.  The departments of the College which report to the Vice President of Student Success will include: Athletics, Residential Life, Student Government Association, Student Activities, Greek Life, and Career Services, Retention. The Vice President will also be responsible for compliance with Title IX. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive student success plan aligned with the institution's strategic goals, including initiatives to improve student retention, graduation rates, and overall well-being.  
  • Student Support Services: Oversee a range of student support services, including academic advising, career counseling, mental health services, disability support, student conduct, residence life, and student activities.  
  • Early Intervention: Implement early alert systems to identify students at risk of academic or personal challenges and provide targeted interventions to support their success.  
  • Student Advocacy: Act as a strong advocate for student needs, representing student concerns to faculty, administration, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Foster collaborative partnerships with faculty, staff, and student organizations to create a supportive and inclusive campus environment.  
  • Data Analysis and Assessment: Utilize data to monitor student success metrics, evaluate the effectiveness of student support programs, and identify areas for improvement.  
  • Student Conduct: Manage the student conduct process, including investigating disciplinary issues, enforcing policies, and educating students on responsible behavior.  
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Promote a diverse and inclusive campus culture by developing programs and initiatives that address the needs of all students.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for student support services, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.  
  • Leadership Development: Mentor and supervise staff within the student success division, fostering a culture of excellence and student-centered service.  

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in student affairs, higher education administration, counseling, or a related field  
  • Significant experience in higher education student services, including leadership roles in student life, academic advising, or student conduct  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, build relationships with diverse stakeholders, and promote collaboration 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills  
  • Commitment to student success and a deep understanding of student development theories

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Professional Development Plan (PDP) and /or the College's evaluation instrument for faculty/staff.
